Janet Bourne

The beauty of Janet's paintings reflect her ongoing fascination with colour, composition and form.

Janet has worked in many mediums but now favours oil paint to create work inspired by the landscape and old masters. This exhibition shows some of her paintings done during lockdown inspired by her favourite old masters. She is a keen photograph spending many hours walking with her dog, Inca in the Peak District where she also sketches as part of her practice. 

 

Janet Bourne lives in Staffordshire, where she grew up in a country village surrounded by animals and spent many happy hours helping her father in his veterinary practice. She married a farmer and brought her family up on the farm, after 30 years she retired to a small village near Stone. She trained as a mature student and achieved a first class honours degree in Fine Art at Staffordshire University then an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in London. Janet has also done the Diploma course at the Norfolk School of Painting. Exhibitions in London, local galleries and private collections and also has exhibited an installation at Tate Liverpool.
