Marissa Weatherhead

Marissa has a wide and varied language in paint which emerges in different applications depending on the subject. Her still life paintings take on an academic approach involving the assessment of colour, form, space, and composition. The influence of Hitchens and the Cubists come through her work in varying degrees.
Marissa studied art for seven years and holds a First-class BA in Fine Art from Gloucestershire College of Art and Design and an MA from The Royal College of Art in London.  
During her career she has gained recognition in the form of awards including the Boise Travel Scholarship, and the John Minton Travel Award. Commissions have included a painting The Four Seasons (14 x 10 ) for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Barbican, London. She has exhibited at the Venice Biennale , throughout Europe the United States and Australia
Over her career Marissa has been awarded four international artists residencies.
