Join professional artist, Bryony Knight for a two-day intensive oil painting workshop. This workshop will teach you everything you need to know to begin your oil painting journey; from which paints to choose, to how to create a masterpiece. If you’ve ever wanted to learn the ancient craft of oil painting, then this workshop is for you. All materials, professional equipment and a scrumptious lunch included, taking place in our fully stocked art studio, you will go home with your very own oil painting, a head full of ideas and a new found passion for painting.

Students will go away with at least two full finished oil paintings, plus multiple oil painting mini exercises. Painting subjects will be based on local areas/dorset landscapes.

Course Schedule

Arrive between 9.30-9.45 for tea and biscuits, and get settled in, before starting the workshop at 10am. Day One will include an introduction to oil paints, studio equipment and a fail safe method to painting landscapes. Students will be taught the age old technique of grisaille and glaze. On day two, students can expect to learn how to mix colours and paint landscapes using the impressionist painting method.
Both days include a home cooked locally sourced lunch in the gallery, and refreshments. The only thing you need to bring, is yourself!
