Wimborne Minster Folk Festival is a town festival like no other. Running since the early 1980s, it is one of the biggest gatherings of dancers and musicians in the South of England. The whole town comes alive with music and comedy, concerts and ceilidhs, workshops, dance performances, street markets and family areas.
As is traditional, on the second weekend of June, Wimborne Minster will come alive with the annual Folk Festival as the streets, pubs and concert halls are filled with morris dancers, music – and much more!
The Festival continues to grow and this year we have over sixty of both dance teams and musical acts to entertain our visitors. Workshops demonstrating an eclectic variety of skills will be run during the festival, many for free.
Trade and charity stalls will be active throughout the Town. These will provide a vast range of products and services including a number of food and drink points. The procession though the town and into the Square, will take place on Saturday afternoon providing a feast of colour and noise for everyone to enjoy.
Whilst your at the festival, pop into Otter Gallery where you can meet artists and see a collection of work especially commissioned for the festival.
