what is OTTER STUDIO pop up?

Looking for a unique space to showcase your artwork or host a creative event? The Otter Studio Pop-Up space is now available for hire, providing a versatile exhibition space right next to the Otter Gallery. Perfect for artists of all ages and community groups, this self-contained unit offers everything you need to bring your vision to life.

Nestled in the heart of Wimborne's vibrant town center on Mill Lane by the riverside, our pop-up gallery space is a true corner of art heaven. Positioned next to the Otter Gallery, this prime location enjoys high foot traffic and attracts art lovers from near and far, making it the perfect setting to showcase your creative masterpieces. Spanning 8.4m x 3.7m, this versatile space provides plenty of room to exhibit a diverse range of artworks, from stunning paintings and eye-catching sculptures to immersive multimedia installations. Take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to run your own exhibition at Otter Studio, all while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of a working studio.Why not make the most of this fantastic opportunity by sharing the space with up to three fellow artists? Collaborate and create a dynamic, varied exhibition that will captivate the entire Wimborne community! Enjoy being on-site, surrounded by the creative buzz of a working studio, as you present your work to the public. (Please note: you will be responsible for staffing your exhibition.)

  • Flexible setup options: Picture rails,  tables and easels available, or use the picture wires provided to hang your artwork. Flexible set up and pull down timings.
  • Toilet 

How It Works

Booking and Rates: Up to 3 artists in one exhibition, (Unfortnuately are unable to accept any craft based work).

Daily Rate: 

  • £50 half day for workshop hire
  • £100 per day for bookings of 2 to 4 days.
  • £90 per day for bookings of 5 days or more.
  • The Otter Studio charges: 30% + Vat commission on all sales.
  • Labelling support up to 50 pictures - £50

 

Please note that booking days  typically run inline with the gallery opening times which are  from  Wednesday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. Our team will be happy to discuss specific dates and availability with you. Days outside of these days are available if required.

 

How to apply

Booking The Otter Studio is simple! Just click the "Apply Here" button and fill out the application form, and a member of our curator team will be in contact  to let you know if your application has been successful. Once accepted, we'll work with you to schedule your preferred dates.

Promotion and Publicity

To help you make the most of your exhibition, we encourage all artists to promote their shows through their own networks and social media.

 

We also offer support by:

  • Featuring your event on the Otter Gallery facebook page, sharing images and details.
  • Your poster will be added  to our dedicated 'Otter Studio Pop Up' web page.
  • We list all upcoming pop ups on our 'event listings poster' outside the studio.
  • Often with exhibitions the public like to have a think about work before buying. This is why we offer the opportunity to list all your works on the 'Otter Studio Pop Up' webpage detailing; title, dimensions, price and a link to enquire. We'll also supply signage for you to use during your show with a QR code which directs interested parties to go to view the work online. This will be live on our site for 4 weeks. To benefit from this, we would need all your images and details 10 days in advance of your show.

Private Viewings and Events

Want to host a private viewing or special event? The Otter Studio is available for private events up until 9 pm. Please discuss this option with our studio team to make the necessary arrangements.

Insurance and Liability Information for Otter Studio exhibitors

Exhibiting groups not covered by their own public liability insurance (up to £10,000,000) will be covered under the studio's insurance policy, provided they comply with our risk assessments as outlined in our health and safety guidelines. It is the responsibility of the exhibitors to review these health and safety guidelines and ensure that their exhibition fully adheres to them. If you already have your own public liability insurance, please inform us at the time of booking.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding health and safety or insurance matters, please contact Otter Studio  for clarification.

Please note that compliance with health and safety guidelines must be confirmed when you complete your Exhibitors Agreement.

Important: Artworks are NOT covered by the studio's insurance. Any insurance coverage for loss or damage to your work is your responsibility.
