My instinctive style of painting tends towards the loose, colourful and energetic. However, in order to continue challenging my ability I have enjoyed attending masterclasses with former LARA tutors (London Atelier of Representational). They include some incredibly talented artists including Luca Indraccolo, Sofia Welch, Lizet Dingamans and Tom Greenwood.
I studied life drawing and portrait painting at The Academy in Brugge, Belgium. Some years later I completed a Fine Art Degree as a mature student. Following my degree I studied with Hugo Grenville, one of Britain’s top romantic painters. He is a master colourist, has been invaluable as a tutor and very much shaped the way I paint today.
In the past I had access to the late John Ward (RA) both as a model and for the occasional drawing session. I also modelled for Peter Kuhfeld (RA). Spending time with both of these artists fuelled my desire to view subject matter in a different way and to explore my own style of painting.

Old Holland paints are predominantly used in my paintings for their intense, vibrant pigments and light fast quality.
